ENA by Zayo has made the difficult decision to discontinue ENA TrustVault. ENA will maintain the ENA TrustVault platform through December 2025. We will apply security updates and conduct regular platform maintenance throughout the remainder of the product's lifecycle.

All customers will be required to migrate to a new service and remove their backup data from ENA TrustVault before the end of the service.

When will this take effect?

ENA TrustVault will reach the end of life on December 31, 2025.

Any customer files stored on the platform on December 31, 2025, will be removed.

Recommendations

The cloud storage market is abundant with options. It's important to select a new provider that uses the same underlying technology to ensure maximum compatibility with your existing software. ENA TrustVault uses the Amazon S3-style API for connectivity.

There are many S3 storage providers; Amazon is the number one in this market, but it might not offer the price point educational customers are looking for.

Wasabi offers affordable S3 storage and is often the go-to solution for IT departments.

Google Cloud Storage and Backblaze both offer compatible storage solutions.

Next Steps

First, identify a new cloud storage provider that meets your requirements. This can be a lengthy process, and we strongly suggest researching multiple providers. This type of migration is referred to as Remove and Replace. Assess your current environment and plan your migration. It's important to remember that migration is a journey.

Second, create a migration plan for your data. This is no easy task: there are no automated tools for migrating cloud storage files from one platform to another. This will be a manual process and will take time.

Lastly, we strongly recommend ensuring your data security by removing all sensitive data from the ENA TrustVault platform once your services have been migrated.
