ENA by Zayo has made the difficult decision to discontinue ENA TrustBackup. ENA will maintain the ENA TrustBackup platform through January 2024. We will apply security updates and conduct regular platform maintenance throughout the remainder of the product's lifecycle.
What does this mean for ENA TrustBackup?
All customers will be required to migrate to a new service and remove their backup data from ENA TrustBackup before the end of the service.
When will this take effect?
ENA TrustBackup will reach the end of life on January 31, 2024.
All customer backup files stored on the platform on January 31, 2024, will be removed.
Recommendations
Backup as a Service (BaaS) providers are extremely common, and the marketplace provides abundant options. ENA recommends contacting multiple providers and asking for educational pricing that suits your needs.
Veeam is the number one used backup software today; many top educational backup providers utilize Veeam cloud services. Veeam's partner directory can help guide you through the process of finding a BaaS provider: Find a partner
Acronis solutions has educational pricing and an excellent reputation in the IT industry.
Next Steps
1. Identify a new Backup as a Service (BaaS) provider that meets your requirements. This can be a lengthy process, and we strongly suggest researching multiple providers.
This type of migration is referred to as Remove and Replace. Assess your current environment and plan your migration. It's important to remember that migration is a journey.
2. Create a migration plan, such as running both solutions concurrently. If you are required to maintain backup files for a specific period, you will need to download these files from ENA TrustBackup and manually transfer them to the new location.
3. We strongly recommend ensuring your data security by removing all sensitive data from the ENA TrustBackup platform once your services have been migrated.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your account service manager (ASM) or ENA’s CTAC.
