VVX 200 Series

Basic Setup and Connecting to Network

Accessing ports on the back of the phone

The ports used during setup are on the back of the phone.

Connect the handset

  1. Plug the jack closest to the straight end of the cord into the handset port on the back of the phone.
  2. Plug the other end of the cord into the port on the handset.

Connect to power, if necessary

If your phone has a non-POE (Power over Ethernet) connection, plug the AC power cord jack into the 48V port on the back of the phone and into a power source.

Connect to your network

Plug an Ethernet cable into the port marked with the Ethernet symbol () on the back of the phone and connect to your network.

Daisy chain to a computer (if applicable)

Once your phone is connected to the network via the Ethernet port () on the back of the phone:

  1. Plug one end of a second Ethernet cable into the port with the computer icon () on the phone.
  2. Plug the other end of the second Ethernet cable into the computer.

Provisioning

Once the phone is connected to the Local Area Network and power source, it will begin its initial boot.

Note: New phones power up in an unprovisioned state. If the phone was previously provisioned, it will need to be unprovisioned before continuing. In these cases, please call the ENA CTAC at 888-612-2880 and choose Option 2.

  1. Press the Login soft key.
  2. If the Number field is not already highlighted, use navigation arrows to highlight.
  3. Press center button on Navigation Disk to open Enter Number field.
  4. Press 1/A/a soft key to open Data Entry Mode options.
  5. Select Numeric Input by using the navigation arrows to highlight 123 and pressing the center button of the navigation disk to select or by pressing 4.
  6. Use the phone keypad to enter the number in the Number field.
    • For extensions with DID numbers, enter the area code and phone number.
    • For non-DID extensions, enter the prefix for your business group and the extension.
    • If you make a mistake, use the >> soft key to erase and re-enter numbers.

  7. Press OK.
  8. Use the down navigation arrow to highlight the Password field.
  9. Press center button on Navigation Disk to open the Password field.
  10. Press 1/A/a soft key to open Data Entry Mode options.
  11. Select Numeric Input by using the navigation arrows to highlight 123 and pressing the center button of the navigation disk to select or by pressing 4.
  12. Use the phone keypad to enter the password in the Password field. If you make a mistake, use the >> soft key to erase and re-enter numbers.
  13. Press OK.
  14. Press Save.
  15. If it is not already highlighted, use the down navigation arrow to highlight Save Config.
  16. Press OK.
  17. When the phone completes booting, it will show the extension assigned to it.

VVX 300 Series

Accessing ports on the back of the phone

The ports used during setup are on the back of the phone.

Connect the handset

  1. Plug the jack closest to the straight end of the cord into the handset port on the back of the phone.
  2. Thread the straight end of the cord through the channel in the phone.
  3. Plug the other end of the cord into the port on the handset.

Connect to power, if necessary

If your phone has a non-POE (Power over Ethernet) connection, plug the AC power cord jack into the 48V port on the back of the phone and into a power source.

Connect to your network

Plug an Ethernet cable into the port marked with the Ethernet symbol () on the back of the phone and connect to your network.

Attach and connect Expansion Module (If applicable)

  1. Plug one end of the short cord supplied with the expansion module into the Aux port on the phone.
  2. Plug the other end of the short cord supplied with the expansion module into the Aux 1 port on the expansion module.
  3. Insert the small metal bracket into the channels on the back of the phone.
  4. Secure the metal bracket with the thumbscrews.
  5. Note: If the holes in the bracket do not align with the thumbscrew holes, turn it around.

Daisy chain to a computer (if applicable)

Once your phone is connected to the network via the Ethernet port () on the back of the phone:

  1. Plug one end of a second Ethernet cable into the port with the computer icon () on the phone.
  2. Plug the other end of the second Ethernet cable into the computer.

Provisioning

Once the phone is connected to the Local Area Network and power source, it will begin its initial boot.

Note: New phones power up in an unprovisioned state. If the phone was previously provisioned, it will need to be unprovisioned before continuing. In these cases, please call the ENA CTAC at 888-612-2880 and choose Option 2.

  1. Press the Login soft key.
  2. Use the phone keypad to enter the number in the Number field.
    • For extensions with DID numbers, enter the area code and phone number.
    • For non-DID extensions, enter the prefix for your business group and the extension.
    • If you make a mistake, use the >> soft key to erase and re-enter numbers.
  3. Use the down navigation arrow to highlight the Password field.
  4. Press abc soft key to open Data Entry Mode options.
  5. Press 3 or the down arrow key followed by the center button of the navigation disk to select numbers mode.
  6. Enter the provisioning password. If you make a mistake, use the >> soft key to erase and re-enter numbers.
  7. Press Submit.
  8. When you see the phone model in the Description field, press Submit.
  9. You will see the Please wait while your phone restarts message. The phone may restart twice to update its configuration. This is normal behavior.
  10. When the phone completes booting, it will show the extension assigned to it.

VVX 400 Series

    • If you make a mistake, use thesoft key to erase and re-enter numbers.

  4. Tap the Password field to select it.
  5. Tap the abc soft key to open Data Entry Mode options.
  6. Tap 123 or press 3 on the keypad to select numbers mode.
  7. Use the keypad to enter your provisioning password. If you make a mistake, use thesoft key to the right of the Password field to erase and re-enter numbers.
  8. Tap Submit.
  9. When you see the phone model in the Description field, tap Submit.
  10. You will see the Please wait while your phone restarts message. The phone may restart twice to update its configuration. This is normal behavior.
  11. When the phone completes booting, it will show the extension assigned to it.
